I grew up in a small mining town in eastern Arizona (Morenci) and completed all of my education, Bachelor’s, Master’s and plus, at NAU. I began my career working with adjudicated youth and high school dropouts at the Institute for Human Development in Flagstaff. I was then the first coordinator for the Northern Arizona Child Evaluation Service working with pediatricians, public health nurses, speech paths, OT’s, nutritionists, social workers and other psychologists, doing comprehensive evaluations on severely developmentally disabled children. For the last 30 years I have been a school psychologist in the Yuma area, first at Yuma Elementary District and now with Crane Schools. I initially served as a regional director several years ago when Yuma was part of the southern region and I am now in my second term as a regional director for the western region. The western region is a vast and very fast growing area as is most other parts of Arizona. During this term I will attempt to develop more out-reach in the region and develop a list-serve to keep in contact with current and potential members.
